PAINTERChernikov Vladimir M.

Born January 15, 1918 in Lisichansk. In 1939 he graduated from the Voroshilovgrad (now Luhansk) art school. From 1946 to 1951 he studied at the Kiev Art Institute,teachers –   E. Sagaidachny, A. Shovkunenko, I. Kudryavtsev, K. Trochimenko and K. Eleva.

Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

In 1950, participated in the design of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy in Kiev.

Has participated in art exhibitions since 1951.

In 1973 Chernikov V. awarded the title – “Honored Artist of Ukraine”.

Major works: “Donetsk Miners” (1957); “The Brigade of the Hero of Socialist Labor M. Mamaia” (1960); “Portrait of the miner Stakhanov AG” (1970), “The Deep Horizon” (1963); “Friendship over Tysiy” (1964 – 1965); The Southern Frontier (1968); “On the Leninist watch” and others.

The works of Chernikov V. are stored at the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Donetsk Regional Art Museum, in private to the collections in Ukraine and abroad.

The artist died in Kiev on March 17, 1992.
