Born July 4, 1923 in the village. Bobrik Lyubashevsky district of Odessa region.

1930 – studies in the art studio of the Odessa Palace of Pioneers. His teachers are Tseitlin and Timofeev.

1939 – studies in the visual studio of the House of Folk Art, where he taught Yu. Bershadsky.

1940 – enters the Odessa Art School. His teachers in the specialty – M.Mutselmaher, P.Parkheta, Yu. Bershadsky.

1941-1945 – The Great Patriotic War graduated as an instructor pilot at the Air Force flight school.

1946-1950 – continued his studies at the Odessa Art School. His teachers in the specialty – M. Pavlyuk and M.  Kordonsky

1950 – 1951 – creative trips around the USSR (Siberia, the Far East).

1954 – joined the Union of Artists of the USSR.

1951 – 1960 – creates a series of works on the construction of the Kakhovskaya HPP.

1960 – donates 237 paintings to the city of Novaya Kakhovka, which created the conditions for the foundation of an art gallery.

1961 – elected an honorary citizen of the city. New Kakhovka.

1976 – awarded the title “Honored Artist of Ukraine”.

2003 – an art gallery in the town of Novaya Kakhovka was named after A. S. Gavdzinsky.

2003 – awarded the title of “People’s Artist of Ukraine.”Works are in art museums of the cities: Kiev (National Art Museum), Odessa, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nikolaev, Kherson, Lvov, Sevastopol, Alupka. And also in many private collections in Ukraine and abroad.

The artist died May 12, 2014
